Something To Think About…

Sharing an old Facebook post today…

True happiness is found by being content with what you already have for this season instead of continuously being anxious, jealous, depressed, and oppressed always seeking to have more.

There is nothing wrong with setting goals to bring a vision to pass, but we must remember to acknowledge God first and submit it all to Him since we do not know what tomorrow holds.

All that we have belongs to God, so we must be willing to release it as He leads us to those who are the poor and needy, ministries that are furthering the cause of Christ, and the care of our own family.

If we desire true joy we must commit our life to the great I AM, and seek after eternal prosperity (something that cannot be stolen, lost, or destroyed).

All that we truly need is in our Lord and Savior Jesus!

Do You Believe?

Do you believe? Can you see?

John 20:25-28

25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.

26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Did you catch that??? His response…

My Lord AND my God.

Now he believed. Now he could see.

My Lord and MY GOD.

Do you believe? Can you see?

The Way To Win The Battle

In the midst of all that is going on, we the called of Christ, should not panic or fret. Let us get quiet before our King and listen. Let us prepare ourselves that we might be able to come before His presence without fear. Let us show the love of Christ to those round about us in the midst of diverse trials and suffering, and become more diligent in proclaiming the gospel. We must be more vigilant than ever before. Watch AND pray. All that is happening was already foretold in the Bible. Read AND study. Warnings go out across pulpits continuously through the preached Word. Hear AND obey. God reveals things to those who seek Him, so that current events are not a surprise. Watch AND listen. He will personally show you things to come. Get quiet before the Lord. Pray. Listen. God will always provide an answer. He will always provide a way of escape. Even in death, heaven is our reward. Do not fret as them who have no hope. Our hope is in the Lord!! It’s time to awake out of sleep. Having a form of godliness is NOT enough in this day and time! Pray without ceasing!! The alarm has sounded long ago. Hear AND obey!!

Prepared To Serve

Hours, days, months go into ministry before the preacher, praise team, or worship arts team comes before the congregation for mere minutes in comparison (at least I know it does for us at my church). Late nights and early mornings are the norm, but rarely or never seen by the casual onlooker. While others enjoy down time those in ministry pour hours of family time, free time, and sleep time into preparation. So much is done behind the scenes before those mere minutes happen prayerfully with anointing and a great move of the Spirit of God upon the congregation. Ministry takes dedication!! Ministry takes discipline!! Ministry takes work!!

Don’t believe me? Read your bible and see how many days, months, years God’s chosen vessels went through preparation before being used by God. David was annointed King long before he took on the position, but he was being prepared and working even in the fields. Joseph endured betrayal after betrayal, but kept working faithfully, and every seemingly setback was actually positioning him for where he needed to be at in due season. The same applies to Ruth in the fields, and Ester’s preparation before being chosen as the new queen. Over and over again you see the same thing: preparation, work, disillusionment or fear, and ministry. Noah had to prepare and build the boat in the face of ridicule, but his obedience saved his family!

However, here’s an important point we must not forget…that we are ALL called to minister one to another!! So, with that being said take a moment to see how you are preparing yourself to minister to your loved ones and community. Your daily bible study and devotion time may be forgotten often in the midst of a busy schedule, and if so reprioritize your life so that you can be in position to minister to that one person who is waiting for an answer!! Hours of preparation sitting at the master’s feet will never be wasted time, even if you simply touch another’s life on God’s behalf for mere minutes. Ministry matters, but ministry requires work and sacrifice by those who truly desire to be used for His glory!!

1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Go, And Sin No More

The issue with the crowd who presented the woman “taken in adultery, in the very act” was never the fact that they pointed out her sin, but the manner it which they did so with self righteous judgement and underhandedly challenging Jesus authority. For even Jesus himself acknowledged her issue, and told her to “go, and sin no more”. All have sinned and fallen short, BUT God does not desire any of us to stay there!! Are you living a life contrary to the word of God? Yes? Then, “go, and sin no more”!!

John 8

1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.

2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.

3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,

4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Your Story Matters!!

If you love fantasies Facebook is definitely the place for you, but real life is not always sunshine, roses, and happily ever after. Real life includes real storms, struggles, and battles to hang in there until your change comes. The reason I share personal struggles or issues at times is because someone else might be going through too, but believing the lie that they are the only one. They might be on the verge of quitting, giving up, and throwing in the towel. I don’t want that for anybody! Somebody might need that word of encouragement that “Hey, you’ve got this. We’ve got this!! Some how and some way, we will survive!!”

Too often people are afraid of transparency. Some because they just don’t care. Some because they are uncomfortable. Some because they don’t want to face their own shortcomings. Some because they believe if you don’t tell than it never happened. Some because they would rather believe and strive to live a lie. Some because they are concerned they will have to get involved with their time or resources. Is it even too much to simply pray without judgement for that “friend” in need?

Obviously, there is a time and place for everything. Social media is not always that place. We must pray for wisdom, and walk in the spirit. The posts I share at times is not for everyone, and probably even most, and THAT’S OKAY. However, if it only reaches the one that God knows is waiting for a right now word of encouragement than IT IS ENOUGH!! Every time someone lets me know a post I shared encouraged them or spoke to them I am reminded that God knows best, and my desire is always to please Him and not the crowds.

The bible says the good shepherd leaves the rest of the sheep to find the one. It’s bible. That one soul matters!! So with all that being said. Share your story. Be real. Use wisdom. Do it for the right reason, and not for attention or sympathy. Tell others the way to keep standing and how to find the way out through the Word of God, just like you did. Your testimony can breathe life into a dead situation, so share it! Somebody is waiting on you!!

Steward Of God

All that we have belongs to God!! We are just stewards passing through this land for a season.

Whatever we give to God already belonged to Him from the beginning, so there is no place for self righteous pride and boasting in our giving or obtaining. There is no reason for giving grudgingly or not at all from our time, finances, and resources to the one who already gave us His all.

Even those of us who are “homeowners” are still just renters with a few more freedoms like decorating as we choose and a whole lot more responsibilities for upkeep (lol), but in the end we still can take absolutely nothing with us.

Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Enjoy what you have, but keep the right perspective and focus. It all belongs to God, and we are blessed to enjoy it for but a season.

Look To God!

Sharing one of my old Facebook post today!

Don’t let others opinions or what you think they are saying or thinking about you keep you from God!!! Remember the woman with the issue of blood. She pressed through the crowd to touch the hem of His garment at the risk of ridicule or worst! How about the woman caught in the very act of adultery? Jesus response, “he that is without sin cast the first stone”. David danced without restraint to the embarrassment of his wife, yet true worship pleases our heavenly father! Instead of looking to people for approval and validation focus on God the one who is well able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than you could ever ask or think!!!
