13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

I see posts with negative comments or jokes on Facebook and YouTube about people praising the Lord at weddings and currently graduations, etc. all the time, and I find it is interesting that some think praise is appropriate only in church. What about “I will bless the Lord at ALL times! Why is it okay to dance and scream about someone carrying a ball across the goal line for a touchdown, but you should be quiet when the Lord has carried you safely through 13 years of school (more if you are graduating from college). It’s okay for schools to blast secular music in the gym for physical education everyday and to hold dances for kids who are only 5 and up (which automatically leads them to talk about dating and boyfriends and girlfriends even in kindergarten), yet Christians should not pray at school or out loud to avoid offending others. Yes, there is a time and season for all things. Yes, all things should be done decently and in order. My only question is why is that time and place becoming less and less while our world is getting worst and worst everyday. To those who want to get your praise on I say celebrate to the fullest, dance like David danced inspite of the ridicule of others, because the world sure enough won’t stop doing their evil to avoid your discomfort or respect your lifestyle and God’s ways. To God be the glory!
35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
WALK IT OUT
It’s a brand new year with brand new opportunities! It’s a great time to refocus and reprioritize the things of God and His plans for your life in this season. The more you focus on the Lord: reading, praying, and studying the Word of God the more your desires will align with His will for your life and the more He can reveal and give to you. Seek the Lord and lay out your requests before Him, and trust that He will direct you and show you the way you should go. The Lord will bless you abundantly with the things that matter the most in your life which are spiritual and enduring even as you prosper in the natural. Remember not to become super focused on pursuing material gains that will ALL pass away while forsaking the pursuit of spiritual fruit in your life which is the most important for you and the body of Christ as a whole. Trust the Lord and trust the process as He leads and guides you from day to day. Unfortunately we live in a sin sick world, and will all have to deal with the negative influences and hurtful words and deeds of those around us who fail to walk in the Spirit and in obedience to the Word by choice or negligence. This is the day that the Lord has made so rejoice in it and give praise for all of the great things that lay before us! God is good and He is faithful to do exactly what He has promised each of us His children, so trust Him and never doubt. What you need God’s got it, so seek ye first the Kingdom of God that he can supply it for you and for me!
STAND ON THE WORD
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
WALK IT OUT
Facing a difficult test on today? Find peace in the word. Praying for a miracle? Believe that God is still doing great things in your life and mine! Have a dire need? Know that God is your provider. Stuck in a difficult situation and can’t see your way out? Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. God promised to do a new thing in the bible days, and He is still able to do so on today!! Sad, broken, depressed, and/or oppressed? Look to the hills, because your help comes from God who sits high and looks low. He cares about you! He will never leave you nor forsake you! Trust Him and obey what He directs you to do, and everything will turn out right in due season!
You are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus! No matter what you face on today go forth knowing Jesus is with you. You are not alone. The battle is not yours. Victory is yours!! Rejoice!!
STAND ON THE WORD
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
The joy of the Lord is my strength! Sorrow abounds all around us as we or our loved ones deal with stress, disappointments, illness, and loss, yet still we can find joy in the presence of the Lord! When darkness tries to overtake me I look to the hills from whence comes my help. My help comes from the Lord! Your help comes from the Lord too! I might have to cry sometimes, but I hold fast to God’s promise that one day He will wipe away every tear! I may not always understand “why”, but I’m thankful for the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. The one who can keep me and you through it all, the great I am, is always with us even when we might feel alone and forsaken. God said He will never leave us nor forsake us, and we must believe this as we walk in faith through the storms of life. I may feel sadness try to overtake me unawares, but in the presence of my Lord it must flee! The joy of the Lord is my strength! I will trust and abide in Him!!
1 Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
4 Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.
5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.
6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.
7 Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
9 Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.
10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
11 Quicken me, O Lord, for thy name’s sake: for thy righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.
12 And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.
8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
