If I…

Matthew 9:21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be made whole.

If I … Wow. Two little words, yet so powerful!!
If I… Words that expressed determination to press through and to press on no matter the obstacles that lie ahead!
If I… Words that required tremendous faith to reach out to the great physician!
If I… Words that required ignoring past disappointments and failures.
If I.. Words that drove out doubt and no options.
If I… Words that expressed hope and a personal choice.
If I… Words that gave focus in the midst of naysayers, doubters, and societies set rules.
If I… Words that went beyond what was seen with the natural eye and pushed forward into the supernatural, spiritual.
If I… Words that revealed understanding that true faith requires action!
If I…

Good night!!

Our family has been blessed with strong women of God as role models!! None of us children have an excuse for not living right, because they taught us the way and were living examples before us too!! I remember like it was yesterday watching them pray, teach, and preach with such power and annointing. They didn’t play church or go to be entertained!! They were on a mission, and took their assignments seriously!!

I love hearing the stories of how my great grandmother was still witnessing in the nursing home until her death, and how my grandmother made sure the family knew what needed to be done so everything was in order before simply praying and speaking in tongues as she passed. She died the way she lived as a prayer warrior, so quiet but so fierce in the Lord!! My heart. My everything. Words could never explain.

Now we must say farewell to another sweet soul, but this morning as I rode to work these words were on my heart, “1 Corinthians 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”. Our hearts might break, but It’s not over!! We must continue to work while it is yet day, and keep pressing towards the mark for the prize of the high calling, When we all get to heaven what a day of rejoicing that will be!! When we all see Jesus we will sing and shout the victory!!

Something To Think About…

Sharing an old Facebook post today. Please share your thoughts in the comments!!

You may not be able to depend on people to stay with you through the storm to comfort and help you in your time of distress. You might even lose some things or suffer damages in the process, however be of good courage. You have prepared in advance for the storm that has come upon you through prayer, fasting, studying the word, and obedience. Now, sit back and relax, knowing God is there to keep you and comfort you with His strength, power, provision, and never ending love!

Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJV)

6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Deuteronomy 31:8 (KJV)

8 And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

Luke 8:23-25(KJV)

23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

A Profession of Trust

A profession is an act of openly declaring or publicly claiming a belief, faith, or opinion.  Another definition in the dictionary states that it is a calling requiring specialized knowledge and often long and intensive academic preparation.

Psalm 31:1 declares “In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.”  Are you able to make that same profession on today that in God only you will place your trust?  People turn against you, love you and leave you, but God is always right there.  Situations and circumstances change, one moment your up and the next you are down, but God has everything that you need in the palm of his hand.  Psalms 31:1-8 is an expression of confidence in God that he can keep us and protect us no matter what we might face from day to day, for God is “our rock and our fortress”.

Read Matthew 14:29-31 and you will see Peter stepping out of the boat and walking on the water, yet he lost focus and faith and began to seek.  We are all just like Peter at times, but what are some causes of the doubt and lost of faith that we might face on this journey? Here are just a few: looking at our situation/problem instead of to God, length of our trial, length of time since a promise was given to us, type of trial, severity of trial, cares of life, family, friends, self, and failure to submit to God’s will and plan for our life.   We must avoid losing focus, at all costs, for the bible declares “what does it profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul?”  Matthew 16:26.  How hard it is for us to do like Jesus in the Garden of Getsemene to submit to God’s will, and say “not my will but thine”, but all is not lost.

We are yet able to regain our trust and faith in God by taking some of the following steps: repent of our sins, refocus on God, rededicate our life, revive those spiritual things that were starting to die, resist the enemy, resume our walk, and rejoice in our Lord and Savior’s faithfulness and mercy.  We can improve our church attendance.  The bible declares “faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” Romans 10:17.   We can pray, fast, read our bibles, and sing songs of praise unto God to build up ourselves.  We can work (be about our Father’s business), go help others, serve in the church, and give of our time and self. We can remember what God has already done for us. We can confess God’s Word over our life.  If we are going through a dry season we can remember Psalm 37:25 “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread”.  If we are dealing with sickness and disease we can declare Isaiah 53:5 “By his stripes we are healed”.  When our children are disobedient or unruly we can proclaim Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go:and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”  No matter what our situation or circumstance we can know God is able to help us and deliver us if we just trust in Him, and we can meditate on Phillipians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Finally, we can regain our trust and faith with thanksgiving for what God has already done in our lives, and prasing and worshiping God for who He is.

We will come out on the other side by holding on to the promise inspite of others doubting and naysaying.  We must step out inspite of the giants we face, and sometimes step out of our comfort zone to avoid missing out on opportunities and provisions that God has already prepared for us.  We must take one day at a time, and remain faithful as we work with a spirit of excellence on our jobs, in our church, and in our homes.  We must maintain our integrity, and deny self and others who might turn us from God’s ways.  We might have to lose some things that we think are important, so that we can gain a greater blessing.  If we hold on to our trust and faith in God our deliverance will come, and when it does we must give a report and share our testimony with others and most importantly we must give thanks for God’s faithfulness.  If we just believe, inspite of feeling forgotten or betrayed, we will be elevated in the end.  Yes our victory will come just as God said it would.  Keep the faith!

Watch, Pray, and Listen!

In the midst of all that is going on, we the called of Christ, should not panic or fret. Let us get quiet before our King and listen. Let us prepare ourselves that we might be able to come before His presence without fear. Let us show the love of Christ to those round about us in the midst of diverse trials and tribulations.  Let us become more diligent in proclaiming the gospel while there is yet time.

Watch AND pray. All that is happening was already foretold in the Bible. Do not be surprised. Do not be dismayed. Even in death, heaven is our reward. Do not fret as them who have no hope, because our hope is in the Lord!!  Look up in anticipation, because our redemption draws near!

Read AND study.  We are instructed to hide the word in our hearts that we might not sin against God. The Holy Spirit will bring to our remembrance the word that we have digested in our private time as we need it, for our own benefit and to help us witness and assist those around us. We must be more vigilant and missioned minded than ever before if we are to accomplish the great task set before us!

Watch AND listen. Warnings go out across pulpits continuously through the preached Word, but it’s up to us to truly listen and obey God’s instructions.  It’s more than singing in the choir, sitting in the pew, or preaching from the pulpit.  We must obey the Word of God! We must believe what we hear, and do what He instructs.

Hear AND obey. The word will lead and guide your footsteps, so that you will not go astray if you simply follow the instructions. He will personally show you things to come. God reveals things to those who seek Him, so that current events are not a surprise. Get quiet before the Lord.  Pray.  Listen.  God will always provide an answer.  He will always provide a way of escape.  Having a form of godliness is NOT enough in this day and time! Pray without ceasing!! The alarm has sounded long ago, and it is way past time to awake out of sleep. Hear AND obey!!
